Hamilton’s streets will be alive with the sound of all types of music this summer.

Bring your own chair when you head over to Ancaster Village on Wednesday (June 7) for the City’s first show in its annual Summer Concert Series.

Rain or shine, the free outdoor concerts will be held in various locations throughout Hamilton. For each concert, two local bands will play music ranging from country and indie-alternative to jazz.

The City encourages people to also explore the shops and restaurants in the area with the help of Tourism Hamilton’s Neighbourhood Guide.

On June 7 in Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre, check out local singer/songwriter Mattie Leon starting at 4 p.m. Leon is described as a “craftsman on guitar and piano” who has a fresh take on the classics from the ‘60s and ‘70s.

At 5 p.m., award-winning songwriter and screen composer Alex Whorms plays her piano, blending classic pop, jazz, rock, folk, classical and anything that inspires her with the raw experiences from her life. Local multimedia company I Heart Hamilton named Whorms “a stand out in the Hamilton scene.”
