Hamilton businesses faced with the daunting task of navigating the ever-changing COVID-19 protocol landscape now have some extra support.

On Thursday (Feb. 18), the City of Hamilton announced the launch of the Hamilton COVID Concierge for Business, a one-stop online and phone resource support system.

The endeavour, undertaken in partnership with the Flamborough, Hamilton, and Stoney Creek Chambers of Commerce, aims to provide the most up-to-date information and resources related to COVID-19 supports, bylaws and protocols.

“One of the main needs of our business community is to receive and understand the latest information and requirements in order to stay in operation,” said Mayor Fred Eisenberger in a news release.

“The COVID Concierge service will provide up-to-date information and resources, the option to speak to a live representative and includes our three Chamber partners.”

The development of this new resource is the result of recommendations made by the Mayor’s Task Force on Economic Recovery that was created in the Spring of 2020 to help address the economic impact of the pandemic.

On the website, local businesses can readily access information on government financial supports, clear sector-specific guidelines to support workplace health and safety, and the most up-to-date operational restrictions.

“As our city slowly emerges out of its second shutdown, Hamilton businesses can count on the COVID Concierge for local support in navigating the new government regulations and programs,” said Keanin Loomis, President & CEO, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce in the release.

“We are pleased to continue working collaboratively with the City of Hamilton and our local chambers to ensure business continuity and economic recovery.”

For questions and concerns not addressed on the website, business owners can reach out to one of the service’s representatives over the phone from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

Local businesses can access the new COVID Concierge for Business phone line at 905-521-3989 or by visiting the website.
