Hamilton woman charged after 14-year-old girl injured in hit-and-run

A woman from Hamilton has been charged after failing to remain on scene following a collision last night (Apr. 30).

At approximately 5:30 p.m., a 14-year-old girl from Hamilton was walking with a group of friends along Parkdale Avenue North near the Roxborough Avenue intersection when she was struck by a 2005 Nissan Quest.

The driver of the vehicle failed to remain on the scene after the collision.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

With public assistance, police were able to locate the vehicle involved in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old Hamilton female, has been arrested and charged with Fail to Remain Causing Bodily Harm.

The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation considering the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim.
