This week, the City of Hamilton will repair the “erosion and slope stability” concerns along the Sydenham Road escarpment access.

The City called the repairs “urgent” and plan to close access to the area for two to three days, beginning Wednesday (Feb. 16) morning.

“Concerns about the stability of the escarpment in this area were raised through a routine maintenance review and have been identified as needing immediate attention in the interest of public safety,” said a City spokesperson.

This closure will be occurring at the same time as the closure on Hwy 8 so motorists should plan accordingly. The City says no formal detour is being planned.
