Kicker Taylor Bertolet was cut by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after he missed a pair of field goals in Friday's 31-12 loss to the Toronto Argonauts.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are looking for consistency from their kickers heading into the post-season.

Kicker Taylor Bertolet was cut by the CFL team after he missed a pair of field goals in Friday’s 31-12 loss to the Toronto Argonauts.

In nine games, the American out of Texas A&M hit just 67.6 per cent of his kicks in 2021.

The Ticats announced the move on Monday (Nov. 15), and also announced the signing of Canadian kicker Gabriel Ferraro. He has been added to the suspended list while he completes his quarantine period.

Michael Domagala is also still listed on Hamilton’s practice roster as a kicker. The St. Catharines native played in three games for the Ticats this season, connecting on 66.7 per cent of his tries.

Ferraro, 26, attended training camp with the Tiger-Cats earlier this season and also spent time on the practice squad of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in October. The 5-10, 178-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario appeared in five Canadian Football League games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2019, converting seven of his nine field goal attempts (77.8 per cent) and 11-of-12 extra-points.

The loss to the Argos handed Toronto the East Division and a first-round bye in the postseason. The Ticats will have to win their season finale at home against the Saskatchewan Roughriders this Saturday (Nov. 20) at 4 p.m. to finish second and secure a home game against the Montreal Alouettes in the Division Semi-Finals.
