A teenage girl is in hospital in critical condition Monday morning (April 26) after being struck by a car in Ancaster.

Hamilton Police said the 15-year-old girl was riding her skateboard along Old Mohawk Road shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday when she was struck by a 2008 Honda driven by a 21-year-old Hamilton man.

“The driver remained at the scene and tended to the female until Hamilton Emergency Services arrived,” a police press release issued Monday morning said. She was then transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the girl remains in critical but stable condition and the collision reconstruction unit is on scene to investigate.

Witnesses who have not spoken to police are asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753 or 905-546-4755.
