Hamilton school on lockdown as police investigate stolen vehicle and BB gun incident

The Hamilton Police Service used Twitter to notify residents of an active investigation on the Mountain Thursday (Nov. 4) afternoon.
Police say an incident involving a stolen vehicle near Fennell Ave and Garth Rd led to Hillfield Strathallan College being placed under hold and secure as a precaution — meaning the doors were locked and no one was allowed to enter or leave the building — just before 4 p.m.
Police added that a BB gun was recovered in the incident, but did not provide further details.
