The Hamilton Police Service used Twitter to notify residents of an active investigation on the Mountain Thursday (Nov. 4) afternoon.

Police say an incident involving a stolen vehicle near Fennell Ave and Garth Rd led to Hillfield Strathallan College being placed under hold and secure as a precaution — meaning the doors were locked and no one was allowed to enter or leave the building — just before 4 p.m.

Police added that a BB gun was recovered in the incident, but did not provide further details.
