The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) is looking for feedback from the community regarding their draft of the next school year’s calendar.

On Monday (Jan. 25), the HWDSB Tweeted that they had developed a draft of the 2021-2022 school calendar for secondary and elementary schools in Hamilton.

“According to Regulation 304, school boards must develop a school year calendar for elementary and secondary schools that includes 194 school days (including seven Professional Activity Days) between September 1 and June 30 with up to 10 days designated as examination days for secondary schools,” the board said in a blog post on its website.

“We are seeking public input regarding the draft calendars and would appreciate your participation in a survey.”

The next school year, according to the draft, would get underway on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, provided the pandemic doesn’t impact that.

The last day of school would fall on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 for elementary students and for secondary students the last day in class will be Monday, June 20, 2022, followed by a week of exams.

Respondents are asked to complete the survey by Friday, February 26, 2021, at 4 p.m.
