Hamilton Public Health hopes ‘Book One, Bring One’ will lead to more vaccinated individuals

Effective immediately, every youth aged 12 to 17 that has a booked vaccine appointment at a mobile pop-up clinic can bring any individual over the age of 12 along as a walk-in.
“This additional individual (a friend, parent, sibling, grandparent, etc.) can receive a first dose of vaccine, or a second dose if currently eligible to do so,” according to Hamilton Public Health, which is looking to “increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine.”
The Pfizer vaccine is currently the only COVID-19 vaccine that has been authorized by Health Canada for use in individuals aged 12 and over.
Appointments for mobile clinics can be booked through the Provincial online booking system at hamilton.ca/VaccineBooking or by calling the call centre at 1-888-999-6488.
According to the Hamilton health care partners, 374,271 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to residents — 67.3 per cent of adults and 38.1 per cent of youth.
