UPDATE: Hamilton power outage affects about 1,700 homes and businesses

A power outage in the East Mountain area of Hamilton that was expected to last hours has been resolved, says Alectra Utilities.
The hydro provider said that 1,749 customers, both residential and commercial, were affected by the outage. The outage is in the area of Queensdale Avenue East to Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway, and Upper Kenilworth to Upper Sherman avenues. Crews were sent out and the initial expected time of resumption was 11:30 p.m.; however, Alectra said it was resolved by 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
