Hamilton power outage affects over 700 homes, businesses

An area of Hamilton is expected to be without power until early Friday morning, after heavy rain passed through the city.
Alectra Utilities says the outage is between the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway and Mohawk Road West, and Upper Paradise Road and Garth Street. About 720 homes and businesses were affected initially. As of 11:30 p.m., the outage is down to 428 consumers, but the expected time of resumption is 3 a.m.

Hamilton was under a severe thunderstorm watch for about two hours on Thursday evening.
