The Hamilton police have arrested the accused in a “serious assault” investigation — but are asking for public help with locating the victim.

Hamilton Police Service say they have been able to locate a man who is believed to be the victim in an attack that reportedly happened shortly before 11 a.m. on Wednesday (May 4) in the area of Parkdale Avenue North and Melvin Avenue. The victim fled the scene prior to police arrival, but investigators with HPS say they believe the victim has “sustained a seirious injury,” and are concerned for the victim’s health and well-being.

“The suspect involved in this investigation has been arrested and there are no concerns for public safety,” HPS said.

The man whom HPS need to locate is Cody Comeau, age 30, of Hamilton. He is described as being around five-foot-10 and about 140 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweater, dark grey shorts and black running shoes.

Anyone who has any information that might assist police in locating the victim you are asked to contact HPS Det.-Sgt. Candace Culp at 905-546-2907 or the Division 2 patrol staff sergeant at 905-546-2963.

Information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at crimestoppershamilton.com.
