Hamilton police seize guns, fentanyl, cocaine and lay more than 40 charges

Hamilton police seized a number of drugs and guns and laid more than 40 charges in three separate incidents this week.

On Wednesday (Sept. 22), shortly after 6 a.m., police received calls regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Gage Park. Officers located the vehicle and conducted an investigation, which lead to locating a loaded .40 calibre handgun, 240 g of cocaine, 10.5 g of fentanyl, and 110 Oxycontin pills.

Abdulsamad Jemal Osman, 26, from Hamilton, had his bail opposed. He was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession for Purpose Schedule 1 –Cocaine
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm
  • Prohibited Firearm- Loaded
  • Careless Use, Carry, Transport, Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Ammunition
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule 1- Other Drugs
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule 1- Opioid
  • Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Proceeds of Crime Under $5000

On Thursday (Sept. 23), the Hamilton Police Service (HPS) gangs and weapons unit executed a warrant at a residence on Dundas Street. They seized a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun with a high capacity magazine “capable of holding 30 rounds,” over 500 g of processed marijuana, over $12,000 cash, and “paraphernalia to support trafficking.”

Jesse Lampman was held for a bail hearing. He is charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Careless storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited device
  • Possession of a Firearm with Altered Serial Number
  • Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
  • Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling

Gylaine Mah was released by way of undertaking with conditions. He is charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Careless storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited device
  • Possession of a Firearm with Altered Serial Number
  • Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
  • Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling

On Friday (Sept. 24), Hamilton police executed a search warrant at a downtown apartment and arrested two individuals. A search of the residence located a loaded 9 mm firearm.

Joseph Sakr, 26, of Hamilton had his bail opposed. He was charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a Firearm
  • Prohibited Firearm Loaded/Unloaded
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm/Weapon
  • Possession of Firearm with Altered Serial Number
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm/Weapon

Keijha Moss, 26, of Hamilton had her bail opposed. She was charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a Firearm
  • Prohibited Firearm Loaded/Unloaded
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm/Weapon
  • Possession of Firearm with Altered Serial Number
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm/Weapon
