A post mortem exam is complete and police confirmed that the founder of the band Teenage Head was Hamilton’s latest homicide victim.
Earlier this week, Hamilton Police said they were investigating after a body found was in a Corktown apartment on Aug. 7. The police didn’t identify the victim but it was widely reported that the person was Teenage Head founder Gordon Lewis.
Today (Aug. 10), Hamilton Police said the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Services have completed the post mortem exam.
With the permission of the family, police confirmed 65-year-old Gordon Lewis from Hamilton is the victim of the city’s third homicide this year.
“Gordon was born and raised in Hamilton and is best known as the founding guitarist of the punk rock band Teenage Head,” police said. “He is described as an inspiring musician.”
The family have requested privacy while they grieve the loss of Gordon, police added. He will be remembered for his passion for music.
