Hamilton Police have concluded an investigation in the city’s downtown that saw a man arrested with possible charges pending.

On Tuesday (Oct. 8) morning, police were called to the area of Main and Walnut streets to reports of a person in distress. The streets were blocked off as police sought to resolve the issue.

Morning traffic was significantly impacted in the area as motorists were urged to avoid the scene.

Police have since confirmed that they’ve taken a man into custody and preliminary investigation suggests charges are forthcoming, police say, but the nature of those have not yet been disclosed.

The area has been cleared for traffic.
