Hamilton Police on proactive patrol in East End seize drugs, loaded gun, arrest three

Hamilton Police say they have arrested three local men and seized a loaded handgun and drugs while proactively patrolling an East Hamilton neighbourhood Thursday morning (April 15).
In a press release issued Friday, police said shortly after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, an officer proactively patrolling in the area of Oriole Crescent spotted a grey 2006 Volvo SUV speeding in a townhouse complex.
The officer reportedly attempted to stop the vehicle by flashing the cruiser’s emergency lights but the Volvo sped away. The officer then disengaged.
Five minutes later, however, police said the same vehicle was observed by another officer on the south side of King Street East, just East of the Redhill Valley Expressway. Three men were then seen fleeing into a near ravine.
The suspects, according to police, travelled through the ravine and were arrested on the south side of the ravine.
Hamilton Police K9 was deployed and recovered a loaded .22 calibre semi-automatic handgun and over $10,000 worth of narcotics.
