Hamilton Police officer suspended after physical interaction with citizen caught on video

A Hamilton Police officer has been suspended after a video of an altercation with a citizen surfaced recently on social media.
Police told IntheHammer in an email that the incident in question happened Tuesday evening (March 8) when police were responding to a mischief/domestic call.
According to police, a ‘physical interaction between a citizen and an officer’ occurred and was captured on video.
“The interaction captured on the video is concerning and we have commenced a criminal investigation into the officer’s conduct,” police said in a press release issued Thursday (March 10).
“Public trust and accountability are integral to our work and we are committed to upholding these values.”
