A Hamilton Police Service (HPS) constable is facing additional charges following an incident late last month in which he is said to have pointed a gun at a fellow service member.

Const. Brandon Terdik has been suspended with pay since Hamilton Police announced the charges related to the incident that took place on Oct. 23.

According to police, at the time, Terdik is said to have pointed his service firearm at another HPS member during his shift.

On Oct. 28, HPS announced that he had been charged with pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm.

Through further investigation, police said Friday (Nov. 19) they learned of another similar incident where Terdik is said to have wielded his service firearm “in a careless manner.”

As a result, Terdik faces a second charge of careless use of a firearm.

Terdik remains suspended and is expected to appear in court on November 25, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.

Police said as the matter is now before the courts, and of respect for the court process, they will not be providing further comment.
