Hamilton Police look to identify east end sex assault suspect

Hamilton Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person believed to have been involved in a sexual assault in the east end in June.

Police said that on Sunday, June 20, 2021, shortly after 5:30 p.m., a man boarded the Barton Street bus at Ottawa Street and road eastbound to a stop on Woodward.

The man then reportedly walked southbound through the McQuesten Urban Farm Community Garden and approached a woman in the area of Glengrove Avenue.

The man, who is unknown to the woman, is said to have sexually assaulted her by rubbing his groin against her buttocks.

Police describe the suspect as being:

  • 16 – 25 years-of-age
  • Thin build
  • Black hair
  • Back pack
  • Denim shorts
  • Black t-shirt
  • Skateboard with green design
  • Black shoes
  • Blue face mask

Investigators in the case are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
