Hamilton Police investigate long weekend crash that sent motorcyclist to hospital

Hamilton Police are investigating a crash that sent a local motorcyclist to hospital with life-threatening injuries over the long weekend.

In a news release issued Tuesday (Sept. 7), police said that the collision happened shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday between a motorcycle and a Chevy Impala at the intersection of King and Queen Streets in downtown Hamilton.

Police said a 20-year-old Hamilton man was riding westbound on King when he collided with the southbound travelling Impala, which was being driven by a 22-year-old man.

Due to the severity of the injuries, police said, the Collision Reconstruction Unit has been tasked with investigating the crash.

Investigators said they have yet to rule out any factor in this ongoing investigation.
