Hamilton Police charge youth pastor from Cambridge following sex assault investigation

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a man from Cambridge following an investigation into sexual harassment and assault.

Police said in a press release issued Friday (Feb. 4), the investigation was launched recently after reports of sexual violence and sexual harassment surfaced on social media in mid-December.

During the course of the investigation, several other victims came forward, police said.

On Tuesday (Feb. 1), police arrested 33-year-old Lucas Jervis of Cambridge in connection to the case. Hamilton Police confirmed in an email to IntheHammer that Jervis is a youth pastor.

Jervis has been charged with:

  • Four counts of Sexual Assault
  • Two counts of Sexual Exploitation
  • Sexual Interference

“Hamilton Police would like to encourage anyone who believes that they may have been a victim of sexual violence, to come forward and report the incident to police,” police said in the release.

“There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences, and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.”
