Hamilton Police charge trio after erratic driving leads to seizure of loaded gun

Three men are facing a long list of charges after weapons were found in a car the trio were seen driving erratically on Hamilton mountain over the weekend.

Hamilton Police said the incident happened last Saturday (Nov. 20) at around 3:30 a.m. when a car was spotted driving erratically in the area of Concession Street and Upper Gage.

The vehicle reportedly fled the area when police were observed but the car was located minutes later, abandoned in the area of Upper Wellington and Limridge Road E.

Inside the abandoned vehicle, police said they found a loaded handgun and magazine.

Moments later, police said, the same three suspects that were seen in the vehicle driving erratically were located and arrested a short distance away.

Shola Sadiq, 26, of Brampton was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Occupy Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm
  • Prohibited Firearm
  • Careless use, storage of Firearm
  • Possession over $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • Dangerous Operation of a vehicle
  • Firearms Prohibition

Mohamed Fuad, 24, from Hamilton was also arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Occupy Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm Possession over $5000
  • Careless use, storage of Firearm
  • Four counts of Breach of Court Order
  • Four counts of Firearm Prohibition
  • Two counts of Breach Probation

And a 17-year-old from Scarborough is facing the following charges:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Occupy Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm
  • Careless Use, Storage of Firearm
  • Prohibited Firearm
  • Possession over $5000
  • Firearms Prohibition
