Hamilton Police released the findings of a six-month investigation into a fatal collision at Centennial Pkwy and King St.

A 25-year-old Hamilton man has been charged in connection to two bank robberies that took place in the city this week.

According to police, the first robbery happened on Monday (April 4) when a man entered a bank in east Hamilton. The man reportedly approached one of the tellers working there and handed them a note advising them that he was armed and this was a robbery.

The man fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Then on the following day, Tuesday, police said the same suspect entered a bank on the mountain and carried out a similar heist.

During the course of both incidents, the man did not display any actual weapons and no one was injured.

The ensuing investigation into the robberies resulted in the arrest Wednesday (April 6) of 25-year-old Gerald Adamson Poirier of Hamilton, police said.

Poirier is charged with:

  • Robbery X 2
  • Disguise with Intent X 2
  • Fail to Comply – Probation X 6
