Matching six lotto numbers in a row equals a six-figure payout for a Hamilton grandmother.

Christian Naranjit, a 69-year-old local resident, cashed in $100,000 for matching six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Aug. 20 Lotto 6/49 draw. She plans to invest her winnings.

“I like playing all the games, and I always add Encore!” Naranjit related while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

Naranjit added that she checked her ticket using the automated ticket checker after buying it at Food Basics on Mohawk Rd. in Hamilton. The words “Big Winner — $100,000” appeared.

“I took it to the cashier right away to have it validated,” she said. “I was shocked and very excited!”

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. There is an Encore draw each day.
