Over 400 businesses and homes were briefly without power in Hamiton tonight.

Around 7 p.m. on Wednesday (April 27), Alectra Utilties said there was an outage in the area from Upper Paradise Road to West 5th Street and from Sanatorium Road to Limeridge Road East, running along Mohawk Road north of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. About 421 customers are affected. The expected time of resumption was 9:30 p.m., but the utility said at 7:29 p.m. that all power was restored.

During a power outage, intersections affected by non-functioning traffic signals are to be treated as four-way stops.

Alectra crews’ progress in restoring service during sudden outages can be tracked at horizonutilities.com.
