It’s going to be a very sticky week in Hamilton.

A Heat Warning has been issued by the City’s medical officer and it goes into effect Wednesday (Aug. 11).

Daytime temperatures will be in the high twenties to low thirties with humidex values expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.

Cooler and less humid air is expected to arrive by the end of the week and into the weekend.

Heat Warnings stay in effect until they are cancelled or escalated to an Extended Heat Warning.

The City of Hamilton and participating community agencies are responding to the heat by offering “cool places” to go during all stages of a heat event.

These locations can be identified by a “Cool Down Here” sign at the entrance.
