Hamilton man seen sleeping in car faces drug charges following afternoon traffic stop

A Hamilton man who fell asleep behind the wheel of his car is now facing several drug charges after police seized fentanyl, meth and cocaine from his car.
According to police, a concerned citizen called in a report of a man seen asleep behind the wheel of a 2016 silver Dodge Journey on Tuesday afternoon (June 14).
Officers attended the area where the car was seen and conducted a traffic stop near Barton and Rosslyn Ave.
Further investigation uncovered a stash of drugs and cash which was seized from the suspect’s car and the driver was arrested.
Police seized from the car:
- 32g of Fentanyl
- 42g of Cocaine
- 23g of Methamphetamine
- An undisclosed amount of cash
Arrested at the scene was 29-year-old Kyle James Rogers of Hamilton who now faces the following charges:
- Three Counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Operation While Prohibited
- Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000
- Driving While Under Suspension
- Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver
- Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000
