Hamilton man ‘laughs with joy’ after $100,000 Poker Lotto win

A Hamilton man is $100,000 richer after winning a recent Poker Lotto draw. He says he's buying a computer and saving the rest.

A 72-year-old Hamilton man added six figures to his bank account, matching all five cards in a recent Poker Lotto draw.

Roger Kendrick of Stoney Creek won $100,000.

“It was a regular day when I checked my ticket while sipping on my coffee,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When ‘Big Winner’ appeared, I just began to laugh. I couldn’t believe it, and I just laughed with joy!”

Kendrick plans to purchase a new computer and save some of his winnings for retirement.

“This feels like a dream come true,” he concluded.

Poker Lotto offers in-store wins of up to $5,000 and nightly prize draws of up to $100,000 with each $2 play.

The winning ticket was purchased at Belgal Tuckshop Variety on Jerome Cres. in Hamilton.
