After a review, Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) says a Hamilton man is close to claiming his Lotto Max prize worth more than $373,000.

Chris Thompson purchased the winning ticket on April 1, 2021, at the Husky gas station on Grays Road in Hamilton. However, his winnings were held because his daughter works for an authorized Ontario lottery retailer.

OLG says the claim falls within their definition of an “insider win.” Claims of $10,000 or more made by insiders require “enhanced review and validation,” as well as a 30-day publication period prior to payment to ensure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket.

The prize will be paid to Thompson on June 30, 2022, pending no additional claims prior to that date.
