Hamilton man facing manslaughter charge is now a fugitive

The police in Hamilton say that Devante Skye-Davis, who faces a manslaughter charge, is a wanted man.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Hamilton Police announced that Skye-Davis, 23, is now considered a fugitive. He is wanted for two counts of failing to comply with his release order. Skye-Davis is believed to still be within the Hamilton area, which is where he hails from.

Skye-Davis faces one count of manslaughter in relation to the shooting death of 17-year-old Myah Larmond, which happened two years ago this week.

“If he is observed, police ask that members of the public call 9-1-1, do not approach,” Hamilton Police stated on Wednesday.

Anyone who has information that ould assist police with the whereabouts of Skye-Davis is asked to call 905-546-4925.

On July 15, 2020, around 4 a.m., police officers in Hamilton responded to a 911 call on St. Matthews Avenue. They found Larmond with a gunshot wound. She died of her injuries in hospital.

Charges were laid against Skye-Davis about a day later.

Last year, Hamilton Police also charged a second suspect, Cadence Beauparlant, with manslaughter and unauthorized possession of a loaded firearm.
