Hamilton man faces drugs, weapons charges after traffic stop: Police

A 31-year-old Hamilton man is facing a number of drugs and weapons charges following a routine traffic stop.

According to Hamilton Police, officers in the area of Barton and Lottridge Streets stopped a car seen driving aggressively and ‘at a high rate of speed’ on Wednesday (March 2).

The stop and subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of the car had a suspended licence. A search of the car led to the seizure of a firearm and drugs and the man was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Fentanyl
  • Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000 – Canada in and out
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Prohibited Firearm – Loaded/Unloaded
  • Fail to Comply Probation Adult x3
