Hamilton man charged following sex assault investigation in Niagara Falls

A Hamilton man has been charged after a woman in Niagara Falls was allegedly sexually assaulted by a phone/internet repair technician last month.

According to the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), an investigation was launched after officers were called to a home on Feb. 18, 2022, to a report that a 62-year-old woman was reportedly touched “inappropriately for a sexual purpose without her consent,” during a service call.

Twenty-two-year-old Stoney Creek resident, Mohit Kals, was arrested and charged Thursday (March 17), police said and is scheduled to attend a video bail hearing in St. Catharines later in the day.

Kals will be answering to a charge of sexual assault, section 271 of the Criminal Code.
