Hamilton man arrested, two women hospitalized with stab wounds: Police

Two women have been rushed to hospital with stab wounds and a 39-year-old Hamilton man is in custody, police said Thursday morning (Feb. 25).

In a Tweet sent shortly after 7 a.m., police said that both women are in non-life-threatening condition.

The man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

UPDATE:

Hamilton Police say the women are in stable condition and their injuries were sustained in an isolated assault at a workplace on the East Mountain.

Police confirmed that  shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Thursday,  they responded to a business in the area of Glover Road and Twenty Road East for a report of an assault. Local reports say the incident unfolded at a Maple Leaf Foods location on Glover.

Once on scene, officers located the two women: one in her late 40’s and the other in her late teens. Both victims had received multiple stab wounds.

A 39-year–old Hamilton man was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault a short time after and was taken into police custody.

The two victims and the arrested male are all employees of the business.

The Division Three Criminal Investigation Branch have taken over the investigation that remains ongoing. A police presence is expected in the area on Thursday.
