Hamilton man arrested in connection to shooting in Stoney Creek

Police say a 27-year-old Hamilton man is facing several charges following a shooting Thursday (May 14) afternoon in Stoney Creek.

Police say a 27-year-old Hamilton man is facing several charges following a shooting Thursday (May 14) afternoon in Stoney Creek.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m., Hamilton Police say they received reports of gunshots fired in front of a commercial property located in the area of Oriole Avenue and South Service Road in lower Stoney Creek.

Officers immediately responded and secured the area and confirmed a shooting had occurred. Through continued investigation, police identified a suspect.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Friday, police located and arrested an unidentified 27-year-old Hamilton man who is believed to have been involved in the incident.

The suspect is expected to appear in court later Friday.

At the time of the shooting, a number of people were inside the business but there were no reported injuries to police.

The suspect is facing the following charges:

  • Discharge firearm
  • Unauthorized use of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession use of a firearm
  • Possession of weapons dangerous
  • Careless use, carry, transport, storage of a firearm
