Hamilton man arrested in connection to Mountain stabbing incident: Police

Hamilton Police have arrested a local man following a stabbing incident on the Mountain Wednesday afternoon (July 14) that sent a man to hospital.

Police were called shortly after 4:30 p.m to reports of a stabbing in the area of Upper James and Stone Church Road.

Once on the scene, police found a man in his late 50s suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release issued Thursday.

The suspect in the incident, a 21-year-old man from Hamilton, reportedly remained on the scene and was subsequently arrested.

The suspect’s bail has been opposed and he is scheduled to appear in court Thursday to answer to the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Fail to Comply Probation x 2

Police have confirmed that the suspect and victim are known to each other.
