Hamilton Police said they have arrested a 29-year-old local man in connection to an investigation carried out by the service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

According to a press release issued Friday (July 16), police said they received information in Dec. 2020 about child pornography being made available online.

On June 10, police executed a search warrant at a home on Hamilton mountain and seized several devices capable of storing digital evidence.

On Thursday (July 15), upon further investigation and after examining data from the seized devices, police arrested Alexander Michael George and charged him with two counts of possessing child pornography and making child pornography available.

Anyone with information is asked to contact any member of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit by calling 905-540-5247.

If you have any information in regards to this individual or incident you can provide information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by submitting anonymous tips online.

According to the release, the Hamilton Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Combat Internet Child Exploitation. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
