Hamilton man arrested in Burlington retirement home robbery case

An arrest has been made in a case where a person posing as a personal support worker (PSW) robbed a Burlington retirement home resident.

The incident took place on March 1 at Burlington Gardens Retirement Home when Halton Regional Police say a man entered through an unlocked door and went into the room of one of the residents.

When confronted by the resident, the person claimed to be a PSW. Police say during the incident cash was taken from the victim’s purse.

After a photo of the suspect was widely distributed the police investigation led to the arrest of a Hamilton man.

Charged with breaking and entering is Gagandeep Goyal.

The person charged has subsequently been released with a promise to appear for a future court date.
