A 22-year-old Hamilton man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a man in the face with a BB gun. 

A 22-year-old Hamilton man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a man in the face with a BB gun. 

Hamilton police say Daniel McDermott, who was wanted in relation to the aforementioned early morning shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, has been arrested in Toronto.

Police say that the altercation that prompted the shooting occurred between two males in the Cannon Street East and Huntley Street area. One male was shot in the face with a BB gun and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Through investigation, a Hamilton man was identified as the suspect in the incident. A warrant of arrest was sought by police and on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, the warrant was issued.

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, Toronto police officers went to a Toronto address to find the accused.

He was arrested without incident and later turned over to the custody of Hamilton police.

The accused appeared in court today to answer to a number of charges, including assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death, possession of weapons and failing to comply with probation.
