Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) removed the COVID-19 screening booths from its hospitals this week.
Rather than undergoing an in-person COVID-19 screening, patients will now self-screen before entering.
Masking will still be required at HHS hospitals, which include Hamilton General, McMaster Children’s, Juravinski, St. Peter’s, and West Lincoln Memorial.
We now no longer have COVID-19 screening booths at our front entrances. Instead, you need to pass the self-screening questions posted at our entrances and on our website. Some clinics may screen again. Masking is still required. Visit https://t.co/VsD6oVZlDv pic.twitter.com/Lh766KDFLw

The decision to remove COVID-19 screen booths by HHS is another step toward the removal of pandemic-related health measures.
Virus transmission is set to “high” in Hamilton. The number of reported cases, test positivity, wastewater signal, and active outbreaks have all increased over the past two weeks. There are 204 active cases in the city as of July 13, 2022.
