Hamilton Health Sciences removes COVID-19 screening booths from hospitals
Hamilton Health Sciences removed COVID-19 screening booths from its hospitals. Another step toward the removal of pandemic-related safety measures.

Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) removed the COVID-19 screening booths from its hospitals this week.

Rather than undergoing an in-person COVID-19 screening, patients will now self-screen before entering.

Masking will still be required at HHS hospitals, which include Hamilton General, McMaster Children’s, Juravinski, St. Peter’s, and West Lincoln Memorial.

The decision to remove COVID-19 screen booths by HHS is another step toward the removal of pandemic-related health measures.

Virus transmission is set to “high” in Hamilton. The number of reported cases, test positivity, wastewater signal, and active outbreaks have all increased over the past two weeks. There are 204 active cases in the city as of July 13, 2022.
