Hamilton has the second worst COVID-19 positivity in Ontario

Hamilton currently has the second worst COVID-19 positivity in Ontario, according to recent data.
Toronto-based research group ICES ranked all 34 public health units in Ontario for the week of August 1 to 7 based on their percent positivity (percentage of positive tests in the area).
Hamilton is listed second at 3.27%, while Ontario overall is listed 12th at 1.59%.

For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of August 1 was 1.6%, an increase from 0.9% the previous week.
Ontario has reached 79% overall vaccine coverage of at least one dose, and 70% are now fully vaccinated (up 5% from the previous week.
