Hamilton’s newest pub is in the East End — and it’s completely plant-based.

Jordan’s Homeside Pub is holding its grand opening on Saturday (Nov. 6) at 1521 Main St. East, near Montgomery Park in the Homeside neighbourhood. Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., patrons can get a taste of what’s to come with free apple cider and chilli.

Owners Sonya and Greg Bessette are looking to offer something that most pubs don’t — vegan food that isn’t just potatoes. Although, potatoes are also on the menu.

The lunch and dinner offerings include the popular Impossible Burger, apple and sage sausage, caesar and “chicken” wraps, “chicken” fingers, and the Reuben sandwich.

Jordan’s Homeside Pub also serves breakfast. It uses the Just Egg dairy substitute and offers classic breakfast items and sandwiches. You can also order classic waffles.

As far as drinks go, you can find the usual cast of beers, wines, and liquors. And, of course, vegan Bailey’s is on the menu.

The Bessettes are somewhat of a local legends duo for their work installing and cleaning the draft beer tap lines at food and drink businesses throughout Hamilton.
