Autumn appears to be a good time to roll the dice on opening a board games café in downtown Hamilton.

Renovations and preparation work are underway at 237 James St. N. ahead of the opening of The Bard and Bear, which is slated to open in the fall. According to a post on their Instagram account, the café has already collected 600 board games that will be available to play once they open.

A board game café is a place where gamers meet for a beverage and to play a game for a small price. Patrons pay an entry fee or a table rental and they can choose any games they want.
