A Hamilton husband and father has a lot to celebrate after winning $100,000 in the Lotto 6/49 Super Draw in late March.

According to an OLG press release, 66-year-old Jamal Ludin was picking up his regular lottery tickets on March 27 when he decided to check some of his others from a previous draw.

“The Ticket Checker was displaying $100,000 and I thought there was something wrong with the machine, so I asked the store clerk to check my ticket and it was true – I won $100,000,” Ludin said in the release.

Ludin said he was very excited to tell his wife and children about his incredible win.

“That day was a happy day. It’s unbelievable,” he said, adding that he’s hoping to put the winnings towards the purchase of an investment property.

Lotto 6/49 players in Ontario have won over $13 billion in prizes since 1982, including 1,405 jackpot wins and 373 Guaranteed $1 Million Prize draws. Lotto 6/49 is $3 per play and draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Honey Bee Food Mart on Redmond Drive on the Mountain.
