Hamilton expands HSR myRide hybrid service into Waterdown

Hamilton transit users in Waterdown will now have an HSR hybrid service that includes a fixed-route portion and an on-demand area.

Beginning Monday (Nov. 7), Route 18 Waterdown Mountaineer will connect Waterdown to Aldershot GO Station and Burlington Transit at Plains Road. It will operate every 30 minutes between 5:25 a.m. and 7:25 p.m. on weekdays and 8:25 a.m. to 7:25 p.m. on Saturdays.

The myRide on-demand service will continue to provide local trips within Waterdown in the on-demand zone above the escarpment.

HSR says the evolution of the myRide pilot follows extensive service analysis and customer feedback to meet the transportation needs of the Waterdown community.”

The HSR myRide pilot can be accessed through the mobile phone app, launched in Sept. 2021 to provide customers with expanded coverage, more direct trips, quicker journeys, and shorter wait times.

The pilot period was extended to study and improve the service further.
