Hamilton Day returns as annual event; support your favourite local businesses and try new ones
After last year's success, Hamilton Day is back as an annual event. It encourages participants to support their favourite local businesses and try new ones.

After testing the waters in 2021, Hamilton Day is back as an annual event.

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce first held Hamilton Day in 1931 during the Great Depression to boost spirits and inject life into the local economy.

“While it was only one day in an economic downturn that carried on for years, Hamilton Day was symbolic of a rallying spirit in the face of adversity,” according to the event’s official website.

Last year, as local businesses clawed their way through the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hamilton Chamber worked with the Stoney Creek & Flamborough chambers and the city’s 13 Business Improvement Areas on a Hamilton Day reboot.

This year, the event will be held on Nov. 5 and encourages residents to support their favourite local businesses and try new ones, whether it’s retail shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, theatres, independent artists and musicians, florists, gyms and fitness studios, personal services, entertainment and games stores, and everything outside and in between.
