Halton Region recognized as Top Employer for Burlington, Oakville, Milton for 11th straight year

Halton Region has been declared one of the GTA’s top employers for the 11th consecutive year.

The annual award is handed out by Mediacorp and recognizes organizations that offer exceptional working environments that promote employee engagement, wellness and success.

The region has also been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates for 2022.

“Providing a supportive workplace for our staff is always an important priority and we are very proud to receive the Greater Toronto Top Employer award once again,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr.

“Our incredible staff continue to go above and beyond to deliver high-quality essential programs and services, including our ongoing response to the pandemic and rollout of COVID-19 vaccines. We will continue to maintain a positive work environment and keep Halton Region one of the greatest places to work.”

The region employs more than 2,500 professionals who deliver a variety of meaningful programs and services to residents in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville.

The competition reviews submissions from both the public and private sector, including national and multinational organizations, and are based on a comprehensive and wide-ranging set of criteria.

When considering Halton for the award, Mediacorp reviewed Halton’s wellness programs, opportunities for recent graduates, supports for new parents, professional development and training, and resources made available to staff to support their health and well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Halton Region has been selected as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates for the third year in a row as part of the The Career Directory, a guide to entry-level recruitment for recent college and university graduates.

Halton was recognized for its intern program that helps recent graduates find work in their field. Interns work closely with a diverse team of professionals to gain experience while delivering high-quality services to residents and businesses in Halton.
