Halton Region has released a COVID-19 vaccination schedule for the month of May, in response to Ontario’s announcement to accelerate the rollout of its COVID-19 vaccine program.

“Halton Region is pleased that we are able to offer appointments to more residents, including essential workers, as vaccine supply is expected to increase,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr.

“Our ability to expand to more eligible groups remains dependent on ongoing and predictable supplies from both the Provincial and Federal governments. We have capacity in our Vaccination Clinics to vaccinate double what we are doing now if more supply was available.”

The vaccination schedule in Halton aligns with Ontario’s direction to prioritize certain populations based on age and risk.

As of today (May 3), Halton residents who are 50 years of age and older and cannot work from home are eligible to book appointments for their COVID-19 vaccine.

As of Wednesday, May 5, Halton residents who are 40 years of age and older and cannot work from home will be eligible to book appointments and as of May 7, those 30 years of age and older and cannot work from home will also be eligible.

Beginning Monday, May 10, Halton residents 16 years of age and older who cannot work from home (attending school in-person does not qualify) will be eligible to book appointments.

Additionally, beginning Wednesday, May 12, age groups (starting with 50+) will be eligible.
