An arrest was made following a stabbing yesterday afternoon in Burlington, but Halton police are being extremely close-lipped about any circumstances.

The incident took place yesterday around 12:30 p.m. when police were called for a report of a stabbing on Cooke Boulevard.

According to police, a victim was located at the scene with wounds consistent with a stabbing and transported to hospital. The injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

An arrest has been made and police are no longer searching for suspects.

When pressed for more details, such as ages or sex of the victim or suspect, police refused to be forthcoming.

“Due to the nature of the investigation, no further details will be provided by police,” said Cst. Steve Elms, Halton police media relations officer.
