Police have made arrests after high-end cars were stolen from Mississauga and Oakville homes using a reprogramming device.

Halton Regional Police say four Lexus vehicles valued at $200,000 were taken from driveways in the early hours of July 8 in west Mississauga and Oakville.

According to investigators, the culprits broke into the vehicles and once inside used a device to start them and then drove them away.

Acting on information they received, police identified three suspects and made arrests the following day. All the vehicles have been recovered.

All three of those charged are from Montreal.

They are Kensley Nazer, 19; Anouar Mahrez, 22; and Sofianne Rahmani, 22.

Each is charged with

  • Four counts of theft of motor vehicle
  • Five counts possession of an automobile master key

Nazer is also charged with obstructing police. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. The other two have been released on an undertaking to appear in court.

Halton Police say the investigation is ongoing in efforts to identify a fourth male suspect in these thefts.
