A day of safety inspections on Oakville tow trucks revealed what Halton Regional Police say were some “stunning results.”

A total of 20 roadside tickets, worth $5,415, were issued on Wednesday as local officers conducted a day of Tow Truck Traffic Enforcement.

“These numbers highlight why commercial motor vehicle enforcement is so vital to keeping our roads safe,” Halton Regional Police tweeted out Thursday.

During the enforcement, Halton police also inspected three trucks resulting in them being placed out of service.

As well, two sets of Ontario plates were seized, while one Town Towing plate was also seized.
